Developed by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s, it remains one of the most effective focus techniques in the world.
Add a task to your list. Pick the one you'll focus on first. Single-tasking is the secret weapon.
Work on that task and only that task until the timer rings. No phone, no email, no distractions.
Step away for 5 minutes. Stretch, breathe, get water. Your brain needs the reset to stay sharp.
After every 4 Pomodoros, take a longer 15-minute break. Then start the cycle fresh and renewed.
Procrastination thrives on ambiguity. When you don't know how long something will take or when to stop, your brain resists starting. The Pomodoro Technique fixes this by making work feel bounded and manageable.
Pomofocus layers an integrated task manager on top of that structure. Instead of juggling separate apps, you plan, focus, and track — all in one lightweight tool. Sessions you complete become a visible record of your day's momentum.
It works for students, remote workers, writers, developers, and anyone who struggles with deep work in a distracted world.
Everything you need to know about Pomofocus and the Pomodoro Technique.
The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. You work for 25 minutes (one "Pomodoro"), then take a 5-minute break. After four Pomodoros, you take a longer 15–30 minute break. The structured intervals help maintain sustained focus and prevent mental fatigue.

Browsers throttle JavaScript timers in background tabs to save battery. The underlying timer continues counting accurately — only the visual ring animation pauses. The display will sync again when you return to the tab.
